Hope Is Rising: A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Can you think back to a day when everything seemed like it was falling out of place? It just ended up being one pitiful day. Jesus can relate to us in our bad days because He too had bad days. This week we dive into why Hope is rising and the hope that Jesus brings because of the outcome of this foretold very bad day. 

Hope Is Rising: Broken Jars

As we are following the life of Jesus leading up to his foretold death and ressurection by His own power, we find ourselves this week diving into a party that Jesus is a part of. There is a moment within this party that shows the graceful character of Jesus and also the way our hearts should look like in devotion with Him. 

Hope Is Rising: The Donkey

In this new series "Hope Is Rising" we are following the life of Jesus and looking at specific moments leading up to His death and ressurection. We start with a very unique moment where Jesus rides into town on a donkey of all things; but there is also a spiritual significance that confirms even further that Jesus is truly the Messiah because of this donkey. 

Chain Reaction: Remarkable Faith

This week we have a guest speaker, Dave McCants, from Two Rivers Church in New Bern, NC. He has been the pastor of that Church from the start and has wisdom to share from his experiences and the growth they have seen in their church. This is directly following the ordaining of our first elders and this sermon is a great cap to the series Chain Reaction.

Elder Ordination

Today marks a very special moment in the history of Venture Church. In the New Testament there are several passages of scripture that elaborate on what the leadership of the Church should look like. Elders are a part of that process. It takes time and commitment to take on the role of being an elder of a church. So, as a church we have been praying for men to rise up and take this role on and four have accepted the calling. This is the recording of their ordination.

Chain Reaction: River Vs. Lake

Living the great commission is what this series is all about. As a church we strive to be on mission for Jesus by being God Chasing Grace Shaped, Love Agents. We say this often to remind us of the purpose that Jesus gives everyone who follows Him. Wherever you are in your journey of faith, tune in this week to hear clearly the purpose and power in Jesus and why it is important that you give your life to Him.

Chain Reaction: Boldness

We have a guest speaker sharing with us this week for our teaching time. His name is Glen Crocker. He is a middle school teacher from Washington, NC and with a heart wanting everyone to give their lives to Jesus he comes ready to challenge us to be bold in our faith. 

Chain Reaction: The Lead Domino

For a chain reaction to occur there has to be a spark, starting point, or what we are calling the "Lead Domino." This piece is pinnacle to the rest of the chain because without it the other parts wouldn't do what they were placed there to do. You could probably name some lead dominoes that have led you to your job, significant other, school, etc. Jesus is calling all Christians to be the lead domino to others by discipling and sharing The Gospel with them.
